I've been making jewelry for over 15 years and that's what led me to making my own glass beads in early 2004. I fell head-over-heals in love with lampworking and the fluidity of melting glass that I pretty much dropped jewelry making at that time. I've been very fortunate to take classes with some wonderful instructors along the way: Michael Barley, Andrea Guarino, J.C. Herrell, Kristina Logan, Connie Fox, Tracy Stanley, Janice Berkibile & Lisa Niven Kelly. They've been a huge inspiration to me and my goal is to take my art to new levels each time I learn from such accomplished instructors.
Over the years, I've gotten back into making jewelry: PMC, wirework & metalsmithing that can incorporate my art glass beads. Lampworking, jewelry & photography are my life passions, I simply can't get enough!! I enjoy all styles of bead making including floral, organic & geometric beads designs. I love color and shape and the simplification of forms. I am humbled by the elegance and beauty of nature as I try to capture it in glass (which is always the challenge).
I love to use transparent glass, dichro, frit, cz's, silver & murrini in my art glass beads as my desire is to draw the viewers eye deep inside the beads to inspire emotion and imagination. I strive to create beads and jewelry that make the admirer wonder what they are made of...beads and jewelry that asks to be touched and investigated. No two pieces are exactly alike. They truly are one-of-a-kind.
I currently teach glass & jewelry workshops. Please check back often to see my new creations and new workshops that are being offered! I am an active member and the Webmaster of the Indiana Society of Lampwork and Art Glass Artists (ISLAGA), and a member of the Indiana Bead Society (IBS). I'm very honored that my art glass beads and jewelry have juried into the Indiana Artisan program which enables me to utilize the Indiana Artisan logo.
I 'm also an avid photographer. I've recently completed a 2-year photography program so I'm now considered a 'professional photographer'. Even though I will probably never be a portrait photographer I will pursue some type of career in this field, just not sure what that is yet (I'm working on it). In the mean time I will continue to take pictures of everything I love...friends, family, flowers, landscapes, & even bugs (w/my new macro lens!).
I feel very blessed for the wonderful things in my life. Thanks for visiting my website and allowing me to share my world with you!!
